DAY 01.- BARILOCHE
Arrival. Meet and transfer from the Airport or Bus Terminal to the Hotel. Overnight.
DAY 02.- BARILOCHE
Breakfast. Departure for the Small Circuit Tour, along the Bustillo Av., which goes alongside the Nahuel Huapi lake with its beautiful scenery. After doing 10 Km we reach the base of Cerro Campanario (Belfry Hill), to see the Nahuel Huapi and Perito Moreno lakes, El Trebol Lagoon, the San Pedro and Llao Llao peninsulas, Isla Victoria, and the Otto, Lopez, Goye and a Catedral Hills. At Llao Llao you will come across the San Eduardo chapel, and Puerto Pañuelo (Handkerchief Port) is on the Nahuel Huapi lakeside. Heading on down the road by a golf course, and over the Angostura bridge towards Lopez Bay, at the foot of the Lopez hill. Then, cross the bridge on lake Moreno’s narrow point and go along the side of El Trebol (Clover) lagoon. Further on arrival at the junction with Bustillo Av. along which you return to the city.
In the afternoon, departure for the Cathedral Hill tour. The name Catedral (Cathedral), has been given to this mountain, because of the similarity of its spires with a Gothic cathedral. During winter, skiing and other snow sports are practiced on its winter sports center. Besides the excellent natural setting, Catedral has the necessary infrastructure, with conditions wich equal Europe’s most famous ski centres. A cable car and chairlifts join the mountain base to all the different pltaforms, with cafes and restaurants for all requirements. The total descent can be done either skiing down the different runs (in winter) or in the cable car or on the séxtuple, quadruple or double chairlifts. Return to the hotel. Overnight
DAY 03.- BARILOCHE
Breakfast Departure for the tour to Victoria Island and Arrayan Forest. This boat trip will take you to the largest island in lake Nahuel Huapi, a natural showcase of native and introduced wildlife and plants, and then on to the last remaining natural "arrayán" forest. Board either at Puerto Pañuelo, located at the foot of the famous Llao-Llao hotel. Lake trips are on comfortable catamarans. After sailing for an hour if you board at Pañuelo Port, you will arrive at Peninsula Quetrihué and its "arrayán" forest. The 1,000 hectares that maile up The Quetrihue Peninsula are joined by a narrow isthmus to the mainland, where the picturesque town of Villa Angostura is located. A unique forest grows on the southern tip of the peninsula. It is the only place where the "arrayán" grows into full-sized trees, and the only pure "arrayán" forest in the world.
The "arrayán" is a tree of singular beauty, with fine, cinnamon-colored bark which is cold to the touch and peels off in flakes, giving the trunk its unique appearance. This forest was declared a National Park by law in 1980. You can stroll through it along 600 meters of walkway, and you will be requested not to pick up or take away any twigs or branches, and in general, to take great care of this natural monument. The trip goes on to Puerto Anchorena, on Victoria island. Walk along trails through the lush forest and see a variety of trees such as sequoias, birches, firs, aromos and pines, among others. Take a dip (in summer, of course) at Toro beach, or take the chair lift up Bella Vista hill, 900 meters above sea level, flanked by enormous "coihue" and "ciprés" trees. Take a break at the island snack bar and return to Bariloche. Overnight
DAY 04.- BARILOCHE
Breakfast: Tour to Blest Port, Los Cantaros Waterfall and Frias Lake. After departing from Puerto Pañuelo (in Llao-Llao) sail along the Blest arm of lake Nahuel Huapi, past the famous Centinela islet, where explorer and pioneer Dr. Francisco Moreno is buried.
Later, arrival to Blest Port, surrounded by lush rainforest, in time for lunch (not included). Then the tour continues with a walk to Los Cántaros waterfall along the banks of a river, up a 600 m stairway to admire admire several stunning falls.
Continue to Frias Lake by bus, and stop along the way to admire a gigantic "coihue" tree known as "El Abuelo" -the grandfather-. Then drive on to Puerto Alegre on the shore of lake Frías, to sail across its unique blue-green waters past Pared del Eco -the wall of echoes- to visit Puerto Frías. (Optional extension to Puerto Montt - Chile. ) Return to the hotel. Overnight
DAY 05.- BARILOCHE
Breakfast and transfer to the Airport or Bus Terminal for departure
